Anquin’s art gallery was opened in 1973 in the town of Reus, 100 km south of Barcelona. The artistic line of the gallery was widened with annual exhibitions of international avant-garde artists, both graphical and original works. In the last years many different exhibitions have been programmed: graphical artists as Bacon, Picasso or Hockney; original cubist artists as A. Lothe, Gleizes, Marcoussis, Poliakoff or artists from the 20th century such as Tapies, Barceló, Clavé, Feito, Saura … and also contemporary spanish painters and sculptors. In 2002 the gallery opened a new space dedicated to contemporary art: ARTLOFT with the intention of promoting the emergent artists; with more daring proposals and an exhibition programme which includes painting, sculpture and photography. The gallery promote spanish artists in international Art Fairs as the young sculptor from Madrid JESUS CURIA, with great international influence and the emerging painter MARC LLACUNA which represent the urge of the gallery to promote new generations of artists with their own personality.
